BIOGRAPHY
Alireza Fereidunian (IEEE M 2002, SM 2019) is an Assistant Professor at the K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. He received his PhD and MSc from University of Tehran, in 2009 and 1997, where he is still a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Dr Fereidunian has been working at Imperial College London and Aalto University (former Helsinki U of Tech) as visiting researcher/scientist.
His research interests include smart grid, smart home, smart city, data analytics in energy systems, distribution automation, and high-reliability energy distribution systems. Alireza has served as a technical consultant to energy distribution companies for almost ten years on asset management, automation, and data analytics. He has (co-/)authored more than 200 research and tutorial educational papers in journals, conferences and magazines.
His research interests include smart grid, smart home, smart city, data analytics in energy systems, distribution automation, and high-reliability energy distribution systems. Alireza has served as a technical consultant to energy distribution companies for almost ten years on asset management, automation, and data analytics. He has (co-/)authored more than 200 research and tutorial educational papers in journals, conferences and magazines.
دکتر علیرضا فریدونیان، استادیار دانشگاه صنعتی خواجهنصیرالدین طوسی است. وی دکتری و کارشناسی ارشد خود را بهترتیب در سالهای 1387 و 1376 از دانشگاه تهران، و کارشناسی را در سال 1373 از دانشگاه علموصنعت ایران دریافت کرد. دکتر فریدونیان دورههای پژوهشی را بهعنوان پژوهشگر و دانشگر دکتری و پسادکتری در کالج امپریال لندن، دانشگاه صنعتی هلسینکی فنلاند (آلتو) و دانشگاه تهران گذرانده است.
زمینههای پژوهشی وی شامل شبکه، خانه و شهر هوشمند؛ کاربرد تحلیل دادهها در مهندسی قدرت؛ طراحی، بهرهبرداری و اتوماسیون سیستم توزیع انرژی الکتریکی؛ مدیریت دارایی (نگهداری و تعمیرات) در توزیع انرژی الکتریکی؛ فناوریهای نوپدید در بازار توزیع انرژی الکتریکی؛ و کاربرد تئوری سیستمهای پیچیده در سیستمهای قدرت است.
علیرضا برای حدود ده سال بهعنوان مشاور شرکتهای توزیع انرژی الکتریکی در زمینهی مدیریت داراییها، اتوماسیون، تحلیل دادهها، و مدیریت پژوهش خدمت کرده، و نویسنده (و همکار) بیش از دویست مقاله پژوهشی، مروری و آموزشی در مجلات و کنفرانسها بوده است.
دکتر فریدونیان بهعنوان رییس کمیته حرفهایهای جوان و کمیته توسعه عضویت آیتریپلئی IEEE بخش ایران، و خزانهدار انجمن علمی شبکه هوشمند انرژی ایران، بازرس انجمن علمی مدیریت بهرهوری، دبیر علمی کنفرانس شبکههای هوشمند انرژی 1393 ،دبیر اجرایی کنفرانس مهندسی برق 1396، و دبیر محور دادهکاوی در صنعت توزیع کنفرانس منطقهای سیرد 1397 تاکنون خدمت کرده است.

Who we are: Research Thrust on Energy Smart Grids is devoted to the front end innovations on smart grids, smart home and smart cities, especially focused on reliability, resiliency, self-healing and demand side management issues.

What we do: The main stream projects at the Research Thrust on Energy Smart Grids are on reliability and resiliency improvements. The reliability-related projects are themselves divided into two main subgroups: decreasing the failure rates (asset management techniques) and increasing the restoration rate (automation, restoration or self-healing). Another line of research is related to NanoGrids and Smart Home, for energy management and resiliency improvement. Furthermore, transactive energy and the other emerging concepts in advanced operations are also studied in this Thrust.
