Short biography:

I am an Associate Professor of Ecological Remote Sensing with the primary research interest in spatiotemporal analysis of forest structure, biodiversity and health indicators by means of spaceborne and airborne data sources. In particular, I am interested in analyzing three-dimensional sources of aerial data for better understanding both tree and gap structures in forest habitats. Other fields in which I am deeply interested include phenology-based approaches for monitoring vegetation decline across temperate and semi-arid ecosystems, as well as retrieval of α, β, and γ diversities of plant communities by means of optical time series of remote sensing data. Besides my teaching and research activities at the K. N. Toosi University of Technology and the University of Würzburg, I am an Associate Editor for Methods in Ecology and Evolution (Wiley) and Forestry (Oxford University Press).
