Dr S. Farhad Masoudi

I Was born on August 1975 and grew up in Tehran, the capital of my lovely country, Iran. I got my diploma from a high school in Tehran in 1993. Although computer science was my first interest for academic study, however, entrance exam in Iran (Concours) forced me to enter Iran University of Science and Technology to study my second interest; Physics (Thanks God for such an event).
Two first semesters of my education in Physics as B.Sc. student were quite common. At 3th-7th semesters, I was so lucky to learn Physics from one of my teachers, Prof. Rahimi Tabar, who taught me a lot of subjects such as classical mechanics, quantum mechanics, waves and …. He changed my perception towards Physics as it was my first academic interest when I got my B.Sc. degree in 1997.
The same year, I came to Sharif University to start my education as M.Sc. student. In my M.Sc. thesis, I studied the application of Laser in medical physics. After getting M.Sc. degree in 1999, I had three choices; changing the field and continue my Ph.D. studies in Particle Physics at Isfahan University of Technology, or in Applied Physics at Tehran University, or going to the compulsory military service. I chose the second one. Although, changing the field in my Ph.D. studies was very onerous, I received my Ph.D. degree at the summer of 2005. (My thesis subject was ‘Neutron Reflectometry' / supervisor Prof. Ali Pazirandeh ).
In 2006, I joint K.N. Toosi University of Technology as assistant professor. During 2006-2010, I worked on my research interests; Computational Physics, Medical Physics and Neutron Optics, and taught some interesting courses such as Quantum Mechanics for B.Sc. and M.Sc. students. In 2010, I was promoted from assistant to associate professor of KN Toosi University.In Dec 2016, I was promoted from associate professor to Professor of Physics department of KN Toosi University of Technology.
From 2010 to now (summer 2013), I have focused on medical physics and recently started to work on Proton Therapy.
