• Abstract
  According to recent water supply crisis, with the help of solar energy as a famous renewable energy resource, a solar desalination unit is designed and fabricated. First, we discussed various methods of water-desalination systems. Then different parts of the solar water desalination device were explained and also important factors which affect the efficiency of the system were discussed. After that, some new ideas for improving desalination process were introduced. Finally, all the ideas were put together and a solar desalination unit were deigned and fabricated. The measurements showed that this unit can produce about 1 kg fresh water out of salty water.
