Biosketch

Jonathan Orange

Farhang Honarvar is a full professor of Mechanical Engineering at K. N. Toosi University of Technology (Tehran, Iran). He also holds a full professor position (status-only) at the University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada). Dr. Honarvar is the director of the Nondestructive Evaluation Laboratory (NDE Lab) at K. N. Toosi University of Technology (KNTU) and the chairman of the Iranian Society for Nondestructive Testing (IRNDT). He has served as the dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of KNTU, Director of the Office of International Cooperation of KNTU, member of the board of a number of Iranian scientific societies, and member of the editorial board of several journals. His research interests include ultrasonic nondestructive testing of materials, theoretical, numerical and experimental study of acoustic and elastic waves, signal processing, and design and construction of sensors and measurement systems. Sponsors of Dr. Honarvar’s research projects include: oil and gas, power, and automotive industries. Dr. Honarvar holds an ACCP Level 3 certificate in ultrasonic testing of materials from the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT). He has published more than two hundred papers in national and international journals and conferences and has registered several patents, including one US Patent, in the area of ultrasonic testing of materials.
