Design and Manufacturing of an Industrial Casting Robot
Increasing demands for high quality products, has motivated investigation of exploiting robotic production cells. Various ARAS projects were defined in late 1990's, to establish a casting robotic cell. One of the main elements for such a cell is the casting manipulator. This was thoroughly designed with the specifications described in the following table, and manufactured as shown below. The manipulator can serve up to three casting machines when used in an automated working cell. The arm went through a complete set of performance tests, and was introduced as the first Iranian industrial robot in 25th Tehran Int. Trade Fair, and received a personal visit of Iran President, besides numerous industrial activities.
