Our research in Cell Sorting and Bioparticle Manipulation focuses on developing high-throughput, label-free, and quality-driven isolation platforms for clinical diagnostics, cell therapy, and reproductive medicine. The precise separation and isolation of target biological cells from heterogeneous physiological samples remain fundamental prerequisites for downstream genomic, proteomic, and phenotypic analyses. We design innovative sorting mechanisms that exploit intrinsic biomechanical, morphological, and behavioral phenotypes such as cellular deformability, membrane elasticity, surface properties, and active motility.
By integrating bioinspired boundary interactions, continuous separation geometries, and advanced physical and physiological sorting principles, our systems achieve high cellular viability, high recovery rates, and exceptional purity, while completely eliminating the need for cytotoxic chemical labeling or damaging centrifugation protocols
We actively welcome motivated undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. students across biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, biotechnology, and data science to contribute to cutting-edge projects:
